Get ready for a safari adventure right at your kitchen table! 🦒 To help our little explorers learn about the African Savanna, we are creating this adorable Easy Giraffe Craft. This project is a fantastic sensory experience that combines art with texture to bring one of the world’s tallest animals to life.
By using Corn Flakes for the giraffe’s spots, children get to explore different textures while practicing the fine motor control needed for “spot on” gluing!

Why This Craft is a “Tall” Success:
Sensory Exploration: Handling and gluing crunchy cereal provides a unique tactile experience for young learners.
Precision & Patience: Placing “spots” onto the glue dots helps develop focus and hand-eye coordination.
Habitat Learning: While crafting, you can talk about how a giraffe’s long neck helps it reach the leaves of the tall acacia trees in the Savanna!
The “Spots”: A small bowl of Corn Flake cereal. 🥣
Coloring Tools: Yellow or orange crayons or markers.
Tools: School glue and a curious imagination!
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Color Your Giraffe:
Start by coloring the entire giraffe silhouette. Most giraffes are a beautiful golden yellow or light orange. Coloring the whole body first gives us a great base for our cereal spots!
2. Prep the Glue Dots:
Squeeze small dots of glue all over the giraffe’s neck and body. Try to space them out just like a real giraffe’s unique pattern.
3. Add the Crunchy Spots:
Take your Corn Flakes and press one flake onto each glue dot. If some flakes are too big, let the kids practice “crunching” them into smaller pieces—it’s great for finger strength!
4. Let it Dry & Display:
Once your giraffe is covered in its new golden spots, let it dry completely. Your African Savanna resident is now ready for a “high-reaching” adventure!
